Introduction to Dara

 Hi everyone,

My name is Dara Egan. I am a twenty-two-year student living in rural Ireland. I am pursuing a degree in general business specialised in economics and finance from the South East Technological University (SETU). I am a fourth-year student so the pressure is on!

For the last two years of college, I have been working weekends at Waterford Credit Union (WCU), but I am not doing that currently to allow me time to focus on my studies.

I have spent the last eight months working as a KYC analyst at the Bank of New York Mellon. This was an enriching experience. I encourage anyone interested in the finance industry to undertake a summer internship if their course doesn't facilitate it because the training and development given to you is top-notch. In my personal life - I lead a very fulfilling and enjoyable life: Here is a video of me doing a skydive. As someone who doesn't like heights, it is one of my proudest achievements.

I have always loved concerts and festivals as nothing is like the buzzing atmosphere. Here is my girlfriend Grainne and me at Electric Picnic 2024 - still cheery after three nights in a tent 😅

I enjoy many sports such as running, swimming and GAA but my passion has always been soccer. We don't win many titles as a small club, but I still enjoy competing and winning matches.

I have been in a relationship with my girlfriend Grainne for over three years - which is a learning experience. I have found out things about myself that wouldn't be possible on my own.

I enjoy the slower side of life and don't believe in drama and negativity - which is a trait that we both share and is key to a good life. I am not necessarily a religious man but I do believe in things like karma, I try to do right by myself and others and as a result, I believe things have a natural way of working themselves out for me in life.

I believe in loyalty and trust - I have a main group of about 10 lads, some of which I've been friends with since playschool, primary school and secondary school. There are different personalities in the group and girls and their own friends added to the mix always make for entertaining social nights out.

Thanks for reading!
